Ambassador
Ben Bailey Smith is AllChild's first public ambassador. Having grown up in West London, the rapper, comedian, actor, and author has a deep knowledge and understanding of the issues facing young people in the area today. AllChild is delighted to join forces with Ben to work towards a West London community where all children and young people have access to the support they need to enable them to overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
To launch this new partnership, award-winning journalist and broadcaster Emily Maitlis interviewed Ben Bailey Smith about his motivations for becoming an ambassador, his experiences growing up, working and living in West London and the challenges facing children and young people today, touching on the effects of Covid-19.
This interview will be the first in a series called Our West London streamed by AllChild to inform and bring recognition to the issues that affect children and young people in the local community.
Ben Bailey Smith said: Couldn't be prouder to have been given the opportunity to become an ambassador for AllChild. To support a charity that enables children and young people - from my area as well - to be the best they can be... it's a no brainer. There's all sorts of difficult issues and challenges facing youngsters at the moment but with the right support at the right time, I believe every one of them has the chance to fulfil their potential.
